Too young to think about Retirement? No way!
It's really difficult to imagine a time when you'll be older, but you've heard many adults talking about retirement, so you might as well know what it's all about.
Retirement is the process of leaving work and living off the money you have saved. Basically, if saved a lot for the day you retire, you can do fun stuff all day long and still be able to pay for it. If you didn't save much before you retire, you're going to find it difficult to do most things and chances are high that you'll have to find work to support yourself.
Retirement is important because it allows you to rest. Think about it, since you were born, all your organs have been working non-stop to help you run, jump, do homework, play sport and go to work. When you retire, you're able to live life at a slower pace and do more of the fun stuff. Unfortunately, many people don't realise that they need to put money away for their retirement every single month they get money paid to them. As a result, retirement is a very sad and difficult time for them.
The truth is, the earlier you start putting money away for your retirement, the more that money can grow and become bigger (this is called earning interest). So, next time you want to buy a toy that you know will just end up breaking in a few months, things about saving your money for a toy you can keep for life. Think about never having to enter the traffic to go to work and being able to live a life never having to worry about having enough money.
