NWest invests in Marikana healing committee

Rustenburg - Northwest premier Supra Mahumapelo says a Marikana Reconciliation, Healing and Renewal committee has been established in his province.
In a statement issued yesterday, the premier said the all-inclusive structure would respond to the needs of residents of Marikana.
It's also hoped that the committee would facilitate unity in the community.
In the statement, Mahumapelo called on stakeholders to work with government in ensuring sustained peace and stability in Marikana.
Three years ago, 34 miners were killed during a workers strike in the mining town. It is an incident in South Africa's history known as the Marikana Massacre.
Editor's note: Parental guidance should be considered for footage of the Marikana Massacre. Below, we have posted a video showing a panel discussion of the historic incident.
