Man miraculously survives 30m cliff plunge
Durban - A man is lucky to be alive after falling 30 meters down the side of a cliff near Tongaat in KwaZulu-Natal.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue, the victim who is in his late forties, told rescuers that he was pushed off the top of the cliff on Monday evening.
IPSS spokesperson Paul Herbst said when rescuers arrived at the scene yesterday morning, they found the man clinging to the edge of the clliff.
Herbst said it took teams about three-and-a-half hours to pull him up.
He said the victim was treated on scene for hypothermia and multiple fractures.
He was transported to hospital for further treatment.
Police would investigate the man's claims.
