DA takes Bic to task over unfine point

Johannesburg - The Democratic Alliance says it will be reporting Bic South Africa to the Advertising Standards Authority, after the company's failed Woman's Day advert stoked the ire of the public.
Today, at the Woman's Day debate in the National Assembly, DA Shadow Minister of Women in the Presidency Denise Robinson criticised Bic for perpetuating patriarchal and stereotypical attitudes in society.
Ms. Robinson said the public outrage over the advert was justified and it highlighted why their advert was so problematic.
Bic South Africa's Women’s Day caption read: Look like a girl; act like a lady, think like a man, work like a boss”.
Ms. Robinson said the company's apology also lacked real understanding of why the advert was so offensive.
