#CrazyLegs at the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon
Cape Town - If you need 10 reasons to participate in the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, you'll find it easily.
Personally, we feel the number one reason you should register for the race is because it's a festival of running. That's right. It's a chance to get out into the fresh Cape air, peel off your winter layers, ditch the four brick walls you've been confined to and just run. Meet some new folks along the way, humour yourself with those of us who run around the block and then push it under the couch again.
What we've come to realise is that the effort you put into your own life should be determined only by you. So, come, Friday, 18 September to Sunday 20 September in Cape Town, you'll likely find us running like Phoebe from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. did -- ala crazy legs style (watch the video below) -- because we're throwing back to a time when merely running (didn't matter whether it was down the driveway or down the straight) was the most exciting thing a kid could do. That deserves a hashtag #crazylegs.
The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon event consists of several race distances:
o Standard Marathon (42.2km)
o 10km Peace Run/ Walk
o Peace Trail Runs (22km, 11km)
o Community Fun Run (4.2km)
Its official charities are WPA Kids Development, Endurocad and Vital Foundation. In addition, Sanlam Cape Town Marathon recognises a further 22 charities and encourages all runners to run for a cause/ donate towards one.
This year will see a Salam first; a spectator bus which is available to all spectators and which offers a free hop on/ hop off service at key points along the route.
